For your convenience we Bhutan Everest Tours & Treks has listed some travel information about how to reach Bhutan, what are the things do you need to enter Bhutan, how to get visa, Air tickets and how to processes payment.

By Air:
The only airline operating into Bhutan is Drukair (Bhutan National Airline) and Bhutan Airline (Tashi Airline). It operates from Bangkok to Paro via Kolkata, Bagdogra, Gaya, Guwahati, Dhaka and Delhi to Paro via Kathmandu. Apart from Paro, there are three more domestic airports in Bhutan: Bumthang in central Bhutan, Yonphula in the east and Gelephu in the south. As of now, Bumthang, Yonphula and Gelephu flights are operated by Drukair 3 times a week. (Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday).

By Surface:
Entry / Exit to Bhutan are also possible through Phuentsholing, the southern Bhutan frontier town and the main commercial hub. Bagdogra airport, in the state of West Bengal (India) is the nearest airport about 5 hours (175km) drive from Phuentsholing. You may also choose to enter and exit Bhutan through south- eastern district of Samdrup Jongkher, the border town with Indian state of Assam.

About Air tickets, we will be happy to process non-binding reservation of your flight. Once seats are reserved, you will get time limit (usually few weeks or even months) during which you need to purchase the ticket or drop reservation. We will be happy to handle the process for you.

Visa

A tourist visa is required for entry into Bhutan and it should be strictly routed through local tour operators such as Bhutan Everest Tours & Treks who will take of this for you. No Bhutanese embassies or missions abroad issue tourists visa.

We apply visa on your behalf and upon approval, forward you a copy, which you need to print and bring along and produce at the airport immigration desk.
