Drukair Corporation Limited, also called Drukair – Royal Bhutan Airlines, is the flag service provider of Bhutan. Founded in 1981, ten years after the kingdom of Bhutan was gradually opened up from self-imposed isolation, and 7 years after inviting its first foreign visitors, the airline began operations in 1983 with flights from Kolkata to Paro. Drukair operates a small set up flight network within southern Asia from its Paro Airport and currently contains twelve locations in 6 countries. Until 23 August 2010 Drukair was the only airline company flying into Bhutan.

Paro International Airport in Bhutan has renown of the most difficult international airport in the world. It lies in the elevation of two and half thousand meters from the sea label and it’s enclosed by almost five thousand meters high mountains. However, there is no reason to be frightened to fly to Paro Bhutan. Our pilots are very well qualified and they never take any dangers. In case of bad climate, there are probabilities of delays. In some cases, the flights can be diverted to other airports.

Apart from Paro International Airport, there are three more domestic airports in Bhutan: Bumthang in central Bhutan, Yongphula in the east and Gelephu in the south. As of now, There is everyday flight to Bumthang but Gelephu and Yongphula 3 time in a week. That is Monday, Thursday and Saturday.
